Total cost = (cubic yards × $/yard) + delivery + (square feet × installation $/ft²). For DIY material-only jobs, ignore installation. Always quote at least three contractors for installed projects.

24×24 ft driveway (installed)
576 ft² × $11 = $6,336 average installed cost. 1.5–2× that figure on the West Coast.
Foundation slab for a 1,500 ft² house
1,500 ft² × $9 = $13,500 average installed. Add structural footings: another $3,000–$5,000.
